At the bottom of the back of page 32 is an Editor's note that reads:
"The charming designs on the next two pages were inspired
by a pair of Victorian lithographs, whose original artist-author is unknown.
Our 1960 versions were created by artist Jo Lowrey and the editors of McCall's."

And the maps are:
GEOGRAPHICAL GUIDE TO A
MAN'S HEART
With obstacles and entrances clearly marked
At his hearts center is "Walled City of the Real Him"
which is surrounded by
Territories, Countries, Dominion's, etc.
Amusing content includes entrances named:
Second Paycheck Boulevard
entering the Land of Living It Up
Homemakers Highway and Tunnel of Fetch and Carry
(possibly an exit),
entering State of SOLID COMFORT
Avenue of Beauty and Romance Concourse (noted
as a Two-Way Thruway)
entering Dominion of Heart Interest

and:
GEOGRAPHICAL GUIDE TO A
WOMAN'S HEART
emphasizing points of interest to the romantic traveler
At her hearts center is the "Hidden City of the Real Her"
which is surrounded by
A Kingdom of CONCEIT, LOVE OF LOVE LAND, State of Security,
County of CONVERSATION, PARTY GIRL PROVINCE and Dominion of Dress
It's cartographic content includes:
the River of Giving Heart, originating between
Swoon Lake and Swampland of Sentimentality, meandering
past Monument of Hero Worship, Garden of First Kisses, Caution
Corner, Make Out Point and the Slow Exit (via
Byway of Broken Dreams,)
along it's way to the
HIDDEN CITY OF THE REAL HER
It may also be noted that there is only one river leaving the center- the River of Conversation that flows through the only region that doesn't have and entrance, State of Security. Then it flows into the Country of Conversation passing the Lowlands of Yak toward The Sound of Her Own Voice. Now maybe this route is an entrance, but it would be an upstream battle.
If a gentleman were to enter Party Girl Province via the Railroad of Passing Fancy, he would pass Heavy Date Orchard, Dance Steppes, and Siren Lake (containing the Isle of Caprice) before crossing the border into Dominion of Dress. Then he'd pass the westerly foothills of the Little Forest of Lipsticks before stopping at the Whistle Stop near the Mountains of Self Satisfaction in the Kingdom of Conceit... then pass right out of her heart at Dear John Junction.
They may not be old or valuable, but they are quite
a conversation pair!
Question:
Does anyone have more information about these maps or the Victorian lithographs?
