On Wednesday, August 9, 2006, Dr. Hooks traveled to
Berlin, and gave a talk titled:" Prisons and Jobs: Does a New Prison
Help or Hurt?"
After Mr. Hook's spoke, he
graciously facilitated many questions and statements from very
frustrated citizens. The small, and sometimes passionate audience
learned quite a bit about the difference between solid, scientific,
peer reviewed research, and research being used by our Congressional
delegation and the FBOP, that is based on bias sampling.
Sadly,
only two elected officials (out of more than 50 invited) were willing
to listen and participate with open discussion. It would
appear that most of our elected officials have no need for the truth or
unrefutable scientific research.
